Velanium is proud to announce the Trofeu Internacional Velanium Gran Premi Vila de Roses, as part of the Eurocup 2011, which will be held in Roses, February 18th to 20th.
Where is Roses?
Roses is a very nice town located approximately 40 km from the French border, 140 km from Barcelona's El Prat airport and 65 km from Girona's airport (Ryan Air)
It has an excellent regatta field (the 2010 29er Europeans where held there) and can offer a lot of interesting places to visit to the people travelling with the sailors.
We are also organizing a clinic to be added to the regatta, before and after it, for those who have school holidays for that period.
If you are just interested in the regatta, please click HERE to enter the event web site.
For those interested in both events...

Format of the clinic
Sailors from different countries and/or regions come and join us for this event and we want to give every sailor an opportunity to learn as much as possible.
Each team brings their own coach. We recommend not having more than 4-5 sailors per one coach.
We will have a total of 5 clinic days with two training session each for a total of 10 on the water sessions. In addition sailors can participate in the International Velanium Trophy and get three more days of racing.
We use two forms of practice: MIXED groups and COUNTRY groups.
We will spend five sessions in mixed groups and five sessions in the country groups. For the mixed group sessions we will start the session with a short race to divide the sailors into groups. Two coaches from different countries will coach each group and naturally the sailors will be divided across country.
That means that sailors will get the chance to sail with sailors who they normally do not practice with. They will also have the chance to learn from other countries' coaches.
For the other five sessions, we will practice in the country groups. That simply means that each country will train with their own coach.
HELP! I am alone
So, what happens if you are coming with no coach?
We are offering a program that is tailored just for you.
Eduard Rodes (SPA) and Lizzi Rountree (USA) will be in charge of the sailors who don't have a team. They will have exactly the same program as the rest of the sailors
Each team with no coach will pay a separate coaching fee of 600 Euros. This also includes coaching and support at the regatta.
If you join this program, you will not need to bring your own coach or team leader.
Accommodation
All sailors, coaches and family members will be accommodated at the Hotel..... The team on site has given us great service and this hotel is a perfect location for the clinic.
Everyone will stay in 2, 3 or 4 person rooms, Teams will arrange who stays together (talk with your Team Leader).
Breakfast and dinner will be at the restaurant at the Hotel. A buffet will be served with a variety of food for any taste. Lunch bags will be provided at the club for each registered participant.
